Wiser Technology is a leading software development company. Our team of 600 engineers across Europe excels in web and mobile software development, video streaming, defense, machine learning, automotive, e-commerce, and AI. We leverage top-tier technologies and expertise driven by a passion for innovation to drive progress.
We are looking for a DevOps Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes to shape the strategic direction of our DevOps practices. In this senior role, you will define and design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native architectures, establish best practices for CI/CD and infrastructure automation, and guide the evolution of our platform to support enterprise-scale workloads. You’ll partner with technical leadership, development, and operations teams to align architecture decisions with business goals and ensure our solutions are future-proof, cost-efficient, and compliant with industry standards.
Define and own the overall DevOps architecture and strategy for Azure and Kubernetes workloads across multiple business units.
Design highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure architectures using Azure services (AKS, VNETs, Private Endpoints, Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, Key Vault, etc.).
Architect enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows, ensuring consistency, reliability, and traceability of deployments.
Lead the design and implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks using Terraform or Bicep, including modularization, testing, and governance.
Establish and enforce cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization practices (Azure Policy, RBAC, managed identities, encryption).
Collaborate with stakeholders to perform architecture reviews, risk assessments, and capacity planning.
Mentor and guide DevOps Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Evaluate and introduce emerging tools, frameworks, and methodologies (e.g., service mesh, AIOps, FinOps, policy-as-code).
Partner with development teams to ensure solutions follow cloud-native, microservices-oriented design patterns.
Create documentation, architecture diagrams, and reference implementations to standardize practices across teams.
Act as a subject matter expert and advisor in technical discussions, incident reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Architecture roles, with at least 3 years in a senior/lead capacity.
Proven track record designing and implementing enterprise-scale solutions on Microsoft Azure.
Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes (preferably AKS), including cluster architecture, scaling, networking, and security.
Strong experience with CI/CD pipeline design (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or GitLab CI).
Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Bicep.
Strong grasp of cloud networking (VNETs, subnets, routing, NAT gateways, VPN/ExpressRoute).
Familiarity with cloud cost management (FinOps), security compliance (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIS2), and operational resilience practices.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – able to influence both technical and business decision-makers.
Strong scripting or programming skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Go).
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification.
Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd) and policy engines (OPA/Gatekeeper).
Familiarity with observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and AIOps solutions.
Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud architecture.
Background in microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
Architect infrastructure to support AI/ML workloads (training, inference, and model lifecycle management).
Integrate Azure AI services (Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services) into enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
Design GPU-enabled Kubernetes clusters for ML training and real-time inference at scale.
Implement MLOps practices (model versioning, deployment automation, monitoring of model drift).
Collaborate with Data Science teams to ensure efficient data pipelines, feature stores, and reproducible environments.
Evaluate and integrate AI-powered observability and AIOps tools for predictive incident detection and automated remediation.
Ensure security, governance, and compliance of AI systems (responsible AI, data privacy, model explainability).
Stay current with trends in LLMs, vector databases, and AI-driven DevOps automation.
